PHOTOGRAPHIQUE A Journal
Photographs by Bettina Mueller, published by Tea House Press, 2025
Bettina studied photography in the 1970s in Aspen, Colorado at The Center of the Eye with the great artist Minor White. She became the printer for Hans Namuth, known for his portraits of famous artists such as Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, and Robert Rauschenberg.
She was also the staff photographer for the Aspen Times and won a photojournalism award. When she moved to New York City, she worked at the Witkin Gallery, one of the most influential photographic galleries of the century, where she met many famous photographers, among them Paul Caponigro, Duane Michals, and Bruce Davidson, who influenced her work.
In 2025, she looked through her archive of black and white photographs taken from the 1970s and developed them for the magazine. Currently, there are 4 issues available for sale: Here online, at Oblong Books in Rhinebeck, and Available Items in Tivoli.
